Increase disk space by backing up and then deleting unneeded files from the drive. Empty the 'Recycle Bin'. Reduce the amount of disk space reserved for the 'Recycle Bin'.

a) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
b) Select 'Programs' and select 'Accessories'.

b) Select 'Properties'.
'Properties' on pop-up
c) Click the 'Global' tab.
d) Move the slider to the left in the 'Maximum size of Recycle Bin section.' (The percentage of the drive dedicated to deleted files appears.)
NOTE: It is advisable to defragment the hard drive to optimize performance of the swap file.
4) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu and select 'Settings'.
5) Select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)
'Control Panel'
6) Double-click 'System'. (The 'System Properties' dialog box appears.)
'System' icon
7) Click the 'Performance' tab.
8) Click 'Virtual Memory...'. (The 'Virtual Memory' dialog box appears.)
CAUTION: It is advisable to let Windows adjust the virtual memory (swap file) settings automatically. Manually adjusting settings should be done by a qualified computer technician or under the supervision of next-level support.
9) Click 'Let Windows manage my virtual memory settings (recommended)'. (This option lets Windows dynamically allocate disk space to serve as virtual memory is required.)
10) Click 'OK' and click 'OK' again.
